British India Edward VII One Quarter Rupee silver coin dated 1908. The obverse shows King Edward VII facing right with the legend EDWARD VII KING AND EMPEROR. The reverse features the crown, denomination 1/4 RUPEE INDIA, Urdu inscription, floral decoration and the date 1908. This issue was struck at the Calcutta Mint and carries no mint mark. It is made of .917 silver, with a standard weight of approximately 2.92 grams, diameter of about 19.5 mm and a reeded edge. The recorded mintage for 1908 was approximately 7,083,812 pieces.
