British India Edward VII One Quarter Rupee 1910 Silver Coin

British India Edward VII One Quarter Rupee silver coin dated 1910. The obverse features the right facing portrait of King Edward VII with the legend EDWARD VII KING AND EMPEROR and the engraver initials DE S. The reverse displays the royal crown above the denomination 1/4 RUPEE INDIA, Urdu inscription, floral sprays and the date 1910. This coin was struck at the Calcutta Mint and has no mint mark. It is composed of .917 silver, with a standard weight of approximately 2.92 grams, diameter of about 19.4 mm and a reeded edge. The 1910 issue had a recorded mintage of approximately 8,024,000 pieces. Reference KM#506.
