British India Edward VII One Quarter Rupee silver coin dated 1907. The obverse features the portrait of King Edward VII facing right with the inscription EDWARD VII KING AND EMPEROR. The reverse carries the crown, denomination 1/4 RUPEE INDIA, Urdu inscription, decorative floral branches and the date 1907. It was minted at the Calcutta Mint and has no mint mark. The coin is composed of .917 silver, with a standard weight of approximately 2.92 grams, diameter of about 19.5 mm and a reeded edge. The 1907 issue had a recorded mintage of approximately 11,464,000 pieces.
