British India 1890 Victoria One Rupee silver coin issued during the reign of Queen Victoria as Empress of India. The reverse shows ONE RUPEE INDIA 1890 enclosed within an elaborate floral wreath, while the obverse features the crowned and robed bust of Queen Victoria facing left with the legend VICTORIA EMPRESS. This is the Calcutta Mint variety with the Type C bust and Type I reverse, catalogued under KM 492. The coin is composed of .917 fine silver, with a standard weight of approximately 11.66 grams and diameter of 30.79 mm. It has a reeded edge and medal alignment.
