French Indochina 1899 One Cent Bronze Coin

A 1899 French Indochina 1 Cent bronze coin issued during the French colonial period in Indochina. The obverse features two allegorical figures representing France and Indochina, surrounding the central circular hole, with REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE around the edge and 1 CENT below the hole. The reverse features four Chinese characters surrounding the central hole, with INDO CHINE FRANCAISE and the year 1899 around the design. The coin was struck at the Paris Mint and is part of the early French Indochina coinage featuring a central hole. The design was created by Daniel Dupuis.
