Alwar State One Rupee of Mangal Singh 1878 AD Victoria Empress Silver Coin

This Alwar State 1 Rupee 1878 is a silver coin issued during the reign of Maharaja Mangal Singh Prabhakar Bahadur (1874–1892), bearing the crowned portrait of Queen Victoria as Empress. The coin belongs to the Alwar State KM#45 series issued from 1877 to 1882. The obverse features the left-facing crowned bust of Victoria with the inscription “VICTORIA EMPRESS”. The reverse carries the Persian legend referring to Maharao Raja Sawai Mangal Singh Bahadur, with the date 1878 in Persian numerals, surrounded by ONE RUPEE and ALWAR STATE. The type was struck at the Calcutta Mint in .917 silver and has a milled edge.
