10 Rupees 1979 International Year of The Child Copper Nickel Unc Coin

The India 10 Rupees 1979 International Year of the Child commemorative coin was issued to commemorate the International Year of the Child. The reverse features a child-themed design with a boy and girl, a rising sun and wreath, along with the inscription “HAPPY CHILD – NATION’S PRIDE” and its Hindi equivalent “बच्चे की मुस्कान – राष्ट्र की शान.” The obverse displays the Lion Capital of Ashoka, “सत्यमेव जयते,” denomination 10 RUPEES, and INDIA. This coin was struck in Copper-Nickel, weighs approximately 25 grams, and has a diameter of approximately 39 mm. The coin shown is from the 1979 Mumbai (Bombay) Mint, identified by the diamond mint mark below the date. The coin is offered in the Unc condition.
