Burma Overprint Issue One Rupee 1940 C E Jones Note

This is an original 1 Rupee banknote (1940) issued by the Government of India for use in Burma. It features the portrait of George VI on the front.

The note has a red overprint reading “BURMA – ONE RUPEE – CURRENCY BOARD – LEGAL TENDER IN BURMA ONLY”, making it a special issue for Burma circulation. It is signed by C.E. Jones.
