British India Edward VII One Quarter Rupee silver coin dated 1905. The obverse features the right facing portrait of King Edward VII with the legend EDWARD VII KING AND EMPEROR. The reverse shows the crown, denomination 1/4 RUPEE INDIA, Urdu inscription, floral design and the date 1905. The coin was struck at the Calcutta Mint and has no mint mark. It is composed of .917 silver, with a standard weight of approximately 2.92 grams, diameter of about 19.5 mm and a reeded edge. The 1905 issue had a mintage of approximately 6,299,742 pieces.
