Bengal Sultanate Nusrat Shah Silver One Tanka Coin

Bengal Sultanate Silver One Tanka of Nasir Ud Din Nusrat Shah, who ruled Bengal from 1519 to 1531. This hammered silver coin features elegant Arabic calligraphy arranged within ornamental borders. The inscriptions carry the Sultan’s royal titles, including his lineage as the son of Husain Shah. Coins of Nusrat Shah were issued from several Bengal mints and exist in a number of varieties. The weight of this specimen is 10.50 grams, consistent with documented Nusrat Shah Tanka varieties.
