1 Rupee 1957 A K Roy Signature Republic India Note

This is an original 1 Rupee banknote of 1957, one of the early Republic India issues, featuring the signature of A. K. Roy, who served as the Finance Secretary of India.

The 1957 issue is historically important because it belongs to the initial years after India adopted the decimal currency system (Naya Paisa era). Like all ₹1 notes, it is issued directly by the Government of India, making it distinct from RBI-issued currency.

The note carries a classic purple/violet design with intricate borders and traditional styling.
