Great Britain Ten Pounds 1970-75 Queen Elizabeth II Note

This is a Bank of England 10 Pounds note from the 1970–1975 issue, featuring Queen Elizabeth II on the front and a heraldic lion on the back.

Obverse details

• The front carries the text “BANK OF ENGLAND” along the top and the promise “I promise to pay the Bearer on Demand the Sum of TEN Pounds” in the center, with large stylized “TEN Pounds” lettering.

• At right is the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in an ornate oval frame, with the denomination “10” in decorative medallions, serial numbers at left and right, and the printed signature of the Chief Cashier along the lower edge.

Reverse details

• The back shows a large heraldic lion walking left, overlaid by a flowing ribbon bearing the inscription “BANK OF ENGLAND TEN POUNDS.”

• The design is composed of intricate guilloches and fine line engraving in muted brown‑violet tones, with the value “10” in the upper right and lower left for easy recognition and anti‑counterfeiting.
