Copper 1835 One Twelfth Anna of East India Company Coin

This is a copper 1/12 Anna coin issued by the East India Company in 1835, the smallest denomination of the uniform coinage. The obverse shows the Company’s coat of arms with two lions supporting a quartered shield and flags, the motto “AUSP: REG: & SEN: ANG:” on a ribbon below, and the date 1835. The reverse carries the value “1/12 ANNA” with Persian legend equivalent to “one‑third pice,” all within a laurel wreath, and the legend “EAST INDIA COMPANY” around. Struck in pure copper, about 18 mm and 2.1 g, this early British India fractional coin is popular with collectors of East India Company issues.
