Canada 2 Dollars 1974 Queen Elizabeth II Note

This is a 1974 series Canadian $2 banknote, featuring a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the front alongside the Canadian coat of arms. The back displays a scene of Inuit hunters preparing kayaks (kayaks/umiaks) in the Arctic, an engraving based on a photograph by Douglas Wilkinson.

Predominantly terra cotta (reddish-brown) in color, this note was part of the “Scenes of Canada” series. While no longer in circulation—having been replaced by the $2 coin (toonie) in 1996—it remains legal tender and a popular collector’s item.
