Calcutta Mint of 1945 of Two Annas of Nickel Brass Coin

This British India 2 Annas coin was struck in 1945 at the Calcutta Mint in nickel‑brass, with the distinctive square shape and rounded corners. The obverse shows the crowned bust of George VI facing left with the legend “GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR.” The reverse carries a large numeral “2” and the wording “ANNAS / INDIA / 1945” inside a decorative quatrefoil, with the denomination written in Urdu, Devanagari, Bengali and Telugu around.
