Spain 2 Euro circulation coin from 2002 depicts King Juan Carlos I on the obverse, marking one of the earliest euro issues post-adoption.​

Design Elements

Obverse shows a left-facing bust of King Juan Carlos I designed by Luis José Díaz, encircled by 12 European stars with four connected by a band, “ESPAÑA” inscription, mint mark (M for Madrid), and 2002 date. Reverse features the standard 2 Euro value over the first Europe map with 12 stars.​
