8 annas 1919 Bombay mint copper nickel coin

This British India 8 Annas coin was issued in 1919 from the Bombay Mint in copper‑nickel during the reign of George V. The obverse shows the crowned bust of George V facing left with the legend “GEORGE V KING EMPEROR,” while the reverse features the large numeral “8” within a scalloped cartouche, the date 1919, and the denomination “ANNAS” with surrounding regional scripts. Struck for only two years and equivalent to half a rupee, this short‑lived denomination is considered a Rare and highly collectible piece of late colonial Indian coinage.
