5000 Francs of Rwanda of 1988 Unc Note

Rwanda 5000 Francs 1.1.1988 issue, is a large, colorful high‑denomination note showing rural life and landscapes, here offered in crisp Uncirculated condition.

Obverse design

• French‑language legend “BANQUE NATIONALE DU RWANDA CINQ MILLE FRANCS” with bold 5000 numerals in the corners.​
• At left a smiling Rwandan woman wearing traditional dress and necklace carries a woven basket of produce on her head, while in the centre and right background workers harvest coffee in a plantation shaded by lush tropical vegetation.

Reverse design

• Kinyarwanda text “BANKI NASIYONALI Y’U RWANDA / AMAFARANGA 5000” with 5000 value panels at both ends.
• Vignette of banana and other plants at left and a detailed pastoral view of Lake Kivu with surrounding hills and trees at right, symbolising the country’s rich agriculture and scenic beauty.

Note details

• Dated 1 January 1988, printed mainly in blue, brown and green with multicolour underprint, security thread, watermark and serial numbers at upper left and lower right.
• Old‑type 5000 francs now withdrawn from circulation, popular with collectors for its attractive rural theme and usually traded at a premium when in full UNC grade like this piece.
